Heavenly Wisdom: A Path to Peace and Harmony
When it comes to wisdom, there are two distinct types: the wisdom of this world and the wisdom that comes from above. The Bible teaches us that the wisdom from heaven is characterized by purity, peace-loving, consideration, submission, mercy, and sincerity (James 3:17).
The World’s Wisdom vs. God’s Wisdom
The wisdom of this world is often driven by selfish ambition and bitter envy, focusing on personal gain and recognition. In contrast, God’s wisdom flows from His character, reflecting His love, mercy, and righteousness. At the heart of heavenly wisdom lies a deep desire for peace and harmony.
The Foundation of Peace
After purity, being peace-loving is the second most essential aspect of God’s wisdom. This means that true peace can only be achieved when we prioritize the well-being of others, humbly submitting to God’s will and way. It requires us to value people over tasks, listening over speaking, and unity over being right.
The Cost of Peace
Loving peace doesn’t mean compromising at any cost. Rather, it involves willingly denying ourselves and paying the price for harmony. This is where God’s mercy and unbiased love come into play, empowering us to live out His call to peace.
A Milestone on the Journey to Wisdom
Embracing peace marks a significant milestone in our pursuit of wisdom. It distinguishes between worldly wisdom, which promotes self-promotion, and heavenly wisdom, which embodies submission to God. As we strive to live with heavenly wisdom, may we pray, “Holy Spirit, make me a peace-lover, that I may live my life with Your wisdom, not the wisdom of this world.”
