God’s Unforgettable Love: A Reminder of His Infinite Power

The Unwavering Memory of God

As I sat down to enjoy a leisurely lunch with my daughter, Val, I couldn’t help but reflect on the words of Isaiah 49:15: “Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Even these forget, but I will not forget thee.” These powerful words remind us of God’s unwavering commitment to His people.

A Personal Reminder

After lunch, I had a few errands to run, including a stop at the jewelers to repair my husband Marvin’s watch bracelet. As I went about my tasks, I found myself praying, “Lord, please don’t let me forget to drop off Marvin’s watch.” But then, I heard a gentle whisper in my heart, “I am not deaf, and I am not like you. I won’t forget.” It was a humbling moment, as I realized I had been treating God like a mere human being.

God’s Infinite Capacity

How often do we put God in a box, limiting His power and abilities to our own finite understanding? We forget that He is the Almighty God, with infinite knowledge and wisdom. He doesn’t need reminders or repeated requests; He hears instantly and remembers everything.

A Grateful Heart

I was struck by the realization that God’s memory is not limited by human frailties. He doesn’t forget, and He can’t forget because He is God. As I pondered this truth, my heart swelled with gratitude. “Father, you are so great. You don’t forget. You can’t forget because you are God. Help our finite minds grasp your awesomeness.” Amen.
