From Survival to Mission: Unlocking Your True Potential

Transforming Your Mindset: From Survival to Mission

Yesterday, I had a profound moment of clarity. After reading a devotional about living with purpose, I was about to respond to a friend’s inquiry about my well-being with a lackluster “I’m hanging in there.” But something stopped me. I remembered the message I had just read, and instead, I typed out a bold declaration: “I’m on a mission.”

This simple shift in perspective had a profound impact on my day. It lifted my spirits and injected a sense of excitement into my daily routine. I realized that “hanging in there” is not only uninspiring, but it’s also a mindset that can hold us back from fulfilling our true potential.

Breaking Free from Limiting Paradigms

The truth is, we are all on a mission. We are part of a larger narrative, led by Christ, and connected to His Kingdom on earth. Yet, we often forget this fundamental truth and settle for mere survival. We must constantly remind ourselves of our purpose and choose to see our reality through the lens of faith.

The Power of Choice

It’s up to each of us to decide how we view our circumstances. We can choose to see ourselves as mere survivors, trudging through life, or as agents of change, driven by a sense of mission. This choice requires a conscious effort, especially when we’ve spent years looking at life through a particular lens.

Faith in Action

Declaring “I’m on a mission” is not just a feel-good mantra; it’s an act of faith. It’s a declaration that we believe in our purpose and are committed to fulfilling it, regardless of our emotions or circumstances. When we choose to see ourselves as part of a larger mission, we open ourselves up to new possibilities and opportunities.

Today’s Mission

So, what’s your mission today? Is it as big as the Kingdom of God on earth? Take a moment to reflect on your purpose and identify your role in it. Remember, “hanging in there” is not an option. You are called to something greater.
