Crossing Borders with Confidence
As we navigate the complexities of life, it’s easy to get caught up in uncertainty and fear. But what if we could trade those worries for a sense of assurance and peace?
A Heavenly Welcome
Jesus’ words in John 14:1-6 offer a reassuring promise: “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home.” He reminds us that He is preparing a place for us, and when everything is ready, He will come to take us to be with Him forever.
No Visas Required
Recently, I returned from an international trip, where we encountered stern-faced government officials scrutinizing our passports and visas. But as believers, we have a different kind of journey ahead – one that requires no visas or paperwork. As Edwin Lutzer so eloquently puts it, “At death, we cross from one territory to another, but we’ll have no trouble with visas… Our Representative is already there, preparing for our arrival.”
Fearless Faith
Perhaps you or someone you know struggles with doubts about entering heaven. But Jesus’ words are clear: “You have been trusting in and relying on God the Father; you can also trust in and rely on me… I’m going away to prepare a place for you…and I WILL come back to get you, to take you into my presence, so that we can be together always.” When we place our faith in Jesus Christ as the one and only Way, we can look forward to crossing that final border with confidence and joy.
A Life of Freedom
I recall living in Europe when borders became free, and we no longer needed to stop at checkpoints. It’s a powerful reminder that when we trust in Jesus, we can live a life of freedom, unencumbered by fear and uncertainty. We can cross the final border into eternity with the assurance that our Representative has prepared a place for us, and we will be welcomed with open arms.
