Breakthrough Giving: Unlocking God’s Abundance

Unlocking the Power of Giving

When it comes to our finances, it’s easy to get caught up in the daily struggle to make ends meet. Bills pile up, expenses mount, and it’s tempting to think that we can’t afford to give. But what if we’re looking at it from the wrong perspective?

A New Perspective on Giving

Tom and Marti, a young couple just starting out, were faced with this very dilemma. They were barely scraping by, and the idea of tithing – giving 10% of their income – seemed impossible. But as they prayed and sought God’s guidance, they felt a clear sense of direction to take the leap of faith.

Taking the Leap of Faith

At first, it was tough. Some bills had to wait, and they had to trust that God would provide. But as they continued to prioritize their tithe, they began to notice something remarkable. They were able to accomplish more with the remaining 90% than they had previously with the full amount.

The Blessing of Obedience

This experience was not unique to Tom and Marti. The Bible promises that when we bring our tithes into the “storehouse” – a metaphor for giving back to God – He will pour out a blessing so great that we won’t have room enough to take it in (Malachi 3:10).

Beyond the Tithe

As Christians, we’re not limited to the Old Testament concept of tithing. We have the privilege of laying up treasures in heaven, far beyond the amount of the tithe. It’s not about how much we give, but about how much we have left after we’ve given to Him and His kingdom.

The Law of Sowing and Reaping

There’s a fundamental principle at play here: the more we sow, the more we reap. When we give generously, we open ourselves up to receive abundantly.

Today’s Action Point

Take inventory of your giving to the Lord. Start with tithing, and expect God to bless you beyond your wildest dreams. Remember, it’s not about what we give up, but about what we gain – a deeper connection with our Heavenly Father and a life of purpose and abundance.
