When Faith Trumps Logic
A Leap of Faith
The Lord’s command to Abram in Genesis 12:1 is a powerful reminder of the importance of obedience: “Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you – I will bless you – and you will be a blessing.” This directive defied human logic, yet Abram’s willingness to follow God’s call resulted in a blessing that continues to inspire us today.
The Unexpected Decision
Susan’s recent resignation from her job may have raised eyebrows. As a highly skilled and respected expert in her field, she had just received a promotion and was known for her creative genius. Her departure seemed illogical, especially considering her impact on the design community. Was she fleeing a difficult work environment or losing her competitive edge? Or had she simply heard God’s whisper, “It’s time to move on. I have something else for you now”?
Following God’s Call
When God says, “Go,” it often goes against our natural instincts. We may question whether we’re making a mistake or wonder if we’re truly hearing God’s voice. Abram’s story serves as a powerful reminder that God’s plans are not limited by our understanding. He calls us to trust Him, even when it doesn’t make sense.
Stepping into the Unknown
Susan’s decision may not yet yield visible results, but God’s purpose and plan are already in motion. As we reflect on Abram’s journey, we’re reminded that God never calls us without a reason. His plans are always bigger than our own.
A Prayer of Trust
As we navigate life’s unexpected turns, let us pray: “Thank you, Father, that we can trust your call in our lives. Help us be sensitive to your voice and faithful to follow.”
