Empowered to Share the Gospel
As believers, we’re called to bear fruit that brings life to others. Proverbs 11:30 reminds us that “the fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and whoever wins souls is wise.” Dr. Bill Bright’s words echo this truth: “Godly men are growing a tree that bears life-giving fruit, and all who win souls are wise.”
The Power of Witnessing
While I may not have directly led someone to Christ, I’ve had the privilege of praying with thousands who have received Him as a result of my witness. But here’s the key: it’s not about me or my efforts. When someone receives Christ, it’s the work of the Holy Spirit. I can’t take credit for the fruit, nor can I be discouraged by the lack of it. The responsibility for fruit belongs to the Holy Spirit, who works in and through believers to produce life-changing results.
Trust in God’s Power
We need to grasp the incredible power of our Lord Jesus Christ, available to all who trust and obey Him. As He commissioned the disciples to spread the gospel, He promised to always be with them. Today, we have the same promise.
Living a Life of Obedience
So, what’s our role in this process? We’re called to draw upon the supernatural resources of the Holy Spirit to obey God’s commands for holy living and fruitful witnessing. Today, let’s make a conscious effort to do just that.
Sharing the Gospel with Others
Who do you know who needs to hear the gospel? Maybe they seem resistant or hostile to the message. How can you begin to communicate it to them in a way that resonates? Take a moment to reflect on this question and ask God for guidance.
Daily Reflection
Take a few minutes to read Proverbs 11:24-31 and reflect on the power of God at work in your life. Then, ask yourself: Who can I share the gospel with today?
