The God of Action
In a world where waiting seems like a passive state, it’s essential to remember that our God is a God of action. Even in moments of stillness, He is constantly working behind the scenes to bring about His plans.
The Power of Waiting
As Isaiah so eloquently puts it, “Oh, that You would rend the heavens and come down… To make Your name known to Your adversaries, That the nations may tremble at Your presence!” (Isaiah 64:1-4). This passage reminds us that God’s power is not limited by our human understanding. He is always at work, even when we don’t see immediate results.
Intimately Involved
While God is controlling the universe, He is also intimately involved in individual lives. He has a plan for each of us, and He wants us to know what it is. Every time we take a step of obedience, He sheds more light on our path. However, there are times when He asks us to pause, and we may not know why.
The Value of Patience
We often long for direction in a particular matter, but our prayers seem to go unanswered. It’s during these times that we wonder, “Why does He delay?” But the truth is, God is still actively involved in our lives, working in ways that are not always visible. He orchestrates circumstances, changes people’s hearts, and protects us from making hasty decisions that will have disastrous consequences.
Growing Through Waiting
Perhaps God knows we’re not yet ready for the next leg of our spiritual journey. Waiting times are opportunities for growth in character, obedience, and faith. He may also need time to train us for future responsibilities and ministries. When we intentionally choose to be still, God unleashes His mighty power on our behalf.
A Life of Purpose
God has planned good things for those who wait, and I believe what He has in store for our lives will surpass all expectations. When He knows we’re ready to receive His blessings, they’ll flow into our lives. So, let’s choose to trust in His goodness and wait patiently for His plans to unfold.
Starting Your Journey
Do you want to experience the peace that comes from having Jesus in your life? You can start today by committing and submitting your life to Him. It begins with a simple, heartfelt prayer: “Lord, thank You for dying so we can be set free from all guilt and sin… I open the door of my life to you and ask you to come in as my Savior and Lord.”
