Reflecting the Love of Jesus
As we journey through life, we often encounter opportunities to share the love of Jesus with those around us. In Philippians 2:2, we’re reminded to “fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.” But what does this look like in our daily lives?
A Family Legacy
Candy Hemphill grew up surrounded by music and ministry. As a member of the singing Hemphill family, she traveled extensively, hearing the story of Jesus’ love at every concert. Yet, despite her upbringing, she hadn’t committed her life to Christ. It wasn’t until her brother Trent intervened that Candy’s life took a dramatic turn.
A Brother’s Concern
Trent noticed the path Candy was on and the company she was keeping. He gently challenged her, saying, “The friends you’re running with don’t know the Bible… it could be that you’re the only Bible they’ll read. You’re the only Jesus they’ll see.” Trent’s words struck a chord, and Candy was ready to surrender her life to Jesus. With Trent’s guidance, she prayed and gave her heart to Christ.
A Reflection of Jesus
This encounter serves as a powerful reminder that we, as believers, are often the only representation of Jesus that others will see. Will they see His love, kindness, and compassion reflected in us? As we go about our daily lives, let’s ask ourselves: Can others see Jesus in me?
