The Ultimate Purpose of a Christian Life
What does it mean to truly live for Christ? For many, it’s a vague notion, a distant ideal that seems unattainable. Yet, for the apostle Paul, it was the very essence of his existence. In Philippians 1:21, he boldly declares, “For me to live is Christ.” But what does this statement really imply?
A Life Transformed
A Christian wasn’t always a follower of Christ. At some point, the Holy Spirit convicted them of their sin, and they were drawn to the Savior who sacrificed Himself on the cross. From that moment on, their life was forever changed. They began to live for Christ, with Jesus becoming the pearl of great price they were willing to surrender everything for.
A Life of Devotion
Jesus is more than just a figurehead; He’s the very heartbeat of a believer’s life. Every breath, every thought, every action is driven by a desire to glorify Him. Paul’s words aren’t just a nice sentiment; they’re a call to radical devotion. Can you honestly say that your life is a reflection of this ideal? Do you live for Christ, or are you driven by self-interest and worldly pursuits?
A Life of Sacrifice
If we claim to live for Christ, how can we justify living for anything else? Isn’t that spiritual adultery?
