When Hospitality Meets Divine Intervention: A Surprising Encounter with a Kingdom Ambassador

A Chance Encounter with a Kingdom Ambassador

During our time in Germany, a phone call from a friend living near the Eastern European border sparked a remarkable chain of events. Our friend had built strong relationships with Christians behind the Iron Curtain, who yearned for freedom from oppression. The request was straightforward: would my husband be willing to pick up a Polish priest from the airport, drive him to a critical meeting in Holland, and host him for the night?

Hospitality Beyond Borders

Our home, a hub for international connections, was the perfect setting for hosting guests from diverse backgrounds. We eagerly accepted the invitation, unaware of the significance of our guest. As we welcomed the priest into our home, language barriers presented a challenge. With limited English and Polish, and our own struggles with German, conversation seemed like an insurmountable hurdle.

Beyond Words: A Sense of Divine Presence

Yet, as we shared meals together, I was struck by the ease and warmth of our interactions. Despite the language gap, a palpable sense of God’s presence filled the room. It was as if our guest brought a piece of heaven with him, filling our home with peace and joy.

A Key Figure in Poland’s Religious Freedom

Years later, we discovered the true identity of our enigmatic guest: a Catholic priest instrumental in opening doors for evangelism and discipleship in Communist Poland. Respected across many circles, he played a crucial role in advancing religious freedom and Kingdom initiatives.

An Angel in Disguise?

Though he didn’t fit the traditional mold of an angel, his presence brought undeniable blessings that we still cherish today. This encounter taught us a valuable lesson: never underestimate the potential of any person to be used by God as an instrument of peace and joy. Our chance meeting with this Kingdom ambassador remains an unforgettable reminder of the power of hospitality and the surprises that can unfold when we open our hearts and homes to others.
