Encountering the Divine
At the burning bush, Moses received an unexpected directive: “Take off your sandals, for you are standing on holy ground” (Exodus 3:5). With these eleven words, God set the tone for their conversation, establishing Himself as the central figure. The focus was not on Moses’ qualifications or abilities, but on the holiness of God.
A Lesson in Humility
Unlike us, who often emphasize human strengths and accomplishments, God didn’t waste time convincing Moses of his own capabilities. There was no pep talk, no encouragement to rely on his own skills. Instead, God chose to reveal Himself, showcasing His power and majesty. The emphasis was on God’s strength, not Moses’.
A Shift in Perspective
We tend to approach challenges by highlighting our own strengths and weaknesses. But what if we shifted our focus to the One who can accomplish the impossible? What if we recognized that our limitations are not a hindrance to God’s plans? As 1 Corinthians 1:26-31 reminds us, God often uses our weaknesses to display His glory.
Embracing Our Weaknesses
So, how can God use you, even in your own weakness, for His glory? It’s not about your abilities or strengths; it’s about surrendering to His power. As you stand on holy ground, remember that it’s not about you – it’s about the God who can do the impossible. Will you let Him reveal Himself through you?
