Seen as Perfect in God’s Eyes: A Life of Gratitude and Humility

Reveling in God’s Perfect View of Us

As believers, we’ve all heard the phrase “Christians aren’t perfect, just forgiven!” It’s a catchy slogan, and it’s true – we’re not perfect. But what if I told you that, from God’s perspective, we’re more than just forgiven – we’re perfect?

A Fresh Perspective

In Colossians 1:22, Paul shares a profound truth with the church in Colossae. He writes, “Once you were alienated from God… but now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation.” This verse reveals a stunning reality: because of Jesus’ sacrifice, God sees us as holy, blameless, and faultless.

The Power of Christ’s Perfection

Think about it – God doesn’t see our imperfections; He sees us through the lens of Christ’s perfection. This means that every flaw, every mistake, and every shortcoming is covered by the blood of Jesus. We’re not just forgiven; we’re presented to God as spotless, without a single blemish.

A Life of Gratitude and Humility

As we wrap our minds around this incredible truth, we can’t help but feel a deep sense of gratitude and humility. We should marvel at God’s grace, which sees us as perfect despite our flaws. We should rejoice in the knowledge that our worth is rooted in Jesus’ sacrifice, not our own achievements.

A Prayer of Thanksgiving

Father, I thank you for the gift of Jesus, who paid the price for my sin and shares His perfection with me. Help me to live a life that reflects the holiness you’ve given me. May I walk in the freedom of knowing that I’m seen as perfect in your eyes, and may my heart be filled with gratitude and praise. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
