Revitalizing Our Spiritual Reservoirs
As I reflect on a recent humanitarian project, I am reminded of the importance of nourishing our spiritual lives. Our team worked tirelessly in clinics near impoverished villages, facing numerous challenges as we sought to meet the medical, dental, and vision needs of over 2,000 children. Despite our best intentions, the demands of leadership often left little time for meditation and prayer.
The Power of Memorized Scripture
Yet, in the midst of chaos, God’s Spirit brought to mind words I had committed to memory long ago. These treasured verses provided answers to problems before they even arose, and equipped me with the wisdom and strength needed to navigate each situation. It was as if God was saying, “I’ve got this; trust in me.”
The Necessity of Refilling
Just as our city’s water supply relies on reservoirs, our spiritual reservoirs require regular replenishment. Without it, we risk running dry, leaving us feeling drained and ineffective. Returning from our project, I was acutely aware of my own need for spiritual rejuvenation. I craved the refreshing, filling, and invigorating power of God’s Word.
A Lifelong Source of Strength
Psalm 119:97 (Living Bible) expresses my sentiments perfectly: “Oh, how I love your word! I think about it all day long.” God’s Word is a timeless gift, equipping us for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17). As I meditate on His Word, I am reminded of its life-giving strength, refreshing and filling me for the journey ahead.
Gratitude and Praise
Father God, I thank you for the abundance of your Word, which revives and strengthens me. May I remain faithful in my meditation, allowing your truth to flow through me, impacting the lives of others.
