Victory Through Christ: A Passionate Pursuit
As the dust settles on another intense election season in the United States, we’re reminded of the privilege we have to engage in public debate and exercise our right to vote. While the lack of civility displayed by some may have been disheartening, one thing is clear: individuals are passionate about their goals, investing heavily in time, energy, and resources to achieve them.
A Relationship, an Adventure, a Passionate Pursuit
Author Joseph Stowell aptly describes Christianity as “a relationship, an adventure, a passionate pursuit of Christ.” But do we truly embody this spirit in our daily lives? Do we hunger to know Christ more intimately, listening attentively for His gentle whispers throughout the day? Do we eagerly anticipate our quiet time, seeking to uncover new facets of His love and story?
Celebrating Victory Through Christ
The winners of the election celebrated their victories, expressed gratitude, and set out to fulfill their campaign promises. But what about our own experience of victory through our Savior? As 1 Corinthians 15:57 reminds us, “But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!” Are we living a lifestyle that reflects this triumph, marked by gratitude, joy, and a sense of purpose?
Reflecting on Our Pursuit
As we reflect on our own pursuit of Christ, let us ask ourselves: Are we passionate about deepening our relationship with Him? Do we prioritize our quiet time, seeking to discover new aspects of His love and character? By embracing a lifestyle of passionate pursuit, we can experience the victory that Christ has already won for us.
