Unlocking the Power of Vision
The concept of dreaming is multifaceted, encompassing thoughts, imagination, and ideas. With over 200 million online resources dedicated to this single word, it’s clear that dreaming has been a driving force for individuals throughout history. Renowned figures like Martin Luther King Jr., Carl Sandburg, and Langston Hughes have all used the word to inspire and challenge others.
Dreaming with Purpose
As followers of God, we are called to dream big, fueled by His love and vision for the world. From the beginning of time, God’s plan has been to share His love with all people, using men, women, and His creation to tell the story. With the Holy Spirit empowering us, we can look at the world’s needs and imagine how God would want them met.
Empowered by God’s Vision
When God challenged Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt, He asked, “What is that in your hand?” This question highlights God’s ability to use our seemingly insignificant resources to fulfill His dreams. We too can look at what’s in our “hands” and dream big about how God might use us.
Raising the Next Generation
It’s essential to involve our children and grandchildren in projects that demonstrate how their efforts contribute to God’s vision. By doing so, we can encourage them to dream big and recognize their role in fulfilling God’s love. Examples include making sandwiches for the homeless, meeting missionaries, and going on short-term mission trips.
Aligning Our Dreams with God’s
When we open our eyes to God’s vision and attend to what He reveals, we will be blessed. As we stand in awe of God’s dream, we are humbled by the understanding that He has chosen us to help accomplish it. We must pray for guidance, asking God to align our imagination and dreams with His.
Reflecting on Our Dreams
Take a moment to reflect on your dreams about being used by God. What skills or talents do you possess that God could use to fulfill His dream for the world? What is in your “hand” that God can use to make a difference?
