A Heart of Thanksgiving
As the year draws to a close, I find myself in a state of quiet reflection, seeking to make a meaningful impact and wondering if I’ve made a positive difference. But this year, I’m overcome with a deep longing to acknowledge the countless ways God has touched my life.
Unfailing Love
The Psalmist’s words resonate deeply within me: “Praise the Lord, for he has shown me the wonders of his unfailing love” (Psalm 31:21a, NLT). I’m reminded of the numerous times God has demonstrated His love and provision in my life, often in subtle yet profound ways. These “kisses from heaven” – as I like to call them – are gentle reminders of His presence and affection.
Simple Gifts
Heaven’s grace often manifests in the simplest of things: a breathtaking sunset, a warm touch from a friend, or a loved one’s thoughtful prayer. These may seem like ordinary moments, but they’re infused with God’s love, whispering to us, “You are loved, you are special. You are Mine!”
Disguised Blessings
However, not all of God’s “kisses” come wrapped in pretty packages. This year, I’ve faced challenges that initially seemed like anything but love notes from above. My son made a poor decision, a close friend struggled with health issues, and my sister suffered through a difficult time, leaving me feeling helpless. Yet, in hindsight, I’ve witnessed God transform these trials into opportunities for growth, beauty, and blessings beyond measure.
Eyes Wide Open
As I pause to reflect on the past year, I’m overwhelmed by God’s love and provision. My heart’s desire is to live with a spirit of gratitude, to remain attentive to the subtle ways God whispers His love to me. I long to bask in the radiance of His love, not just in the coming year, but for the rest of my life.
Reflection Time
Take a moment to reflect on the ways God has “kissed” you this past year. How has He demonstrated His love and provision in your life? As you look back, may you be filled with a heart of thanksgiving and a deeper appreciation for God’s unwavering love.
