The Heart of True Devotion
At the core of our faith lies a profound question: do we genuinely love Jesus Christ, or is our relationship with Him merely an intellectual exercise? Have we experienced a deep-seated transformation, where our hearts have been stirred to adore and cherish Him?
A Love That Transcends Intellect
For many, acknowledging Jesus’ existence is where their faith begins and ends. However, true devotion goes beyond mere agreement with historical facts. It’s a heartfelt connection that resonates deeply within us. When we utter Jesus’ name, does it bring us peace and comfort, or is it merely a casual reference?
The Unconditional Acceptance of God
God’s love for us is unwavering and unconditional. He has forgiven every sin, every mistake, and every shortcoming. In return, do we love Him with the same fervor? Do we appreciate the countless times He has rescued us from difficulties and battles, often caused by our own actions?
The Proof of God’s Love
The existence of our love for Christ is a testament to God’s love for us. As it is written, “We love, because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19). Our love is a response to the relentless warmth of God’s love, which has proven itself irresistible.
A Deeper Issue
Today, Christians often argue about doctrines and divide over eschatology. However, the fundamental question remains: do we truly love Jesus Christ? If so, our love is a direct result of His love for us.
The Irresistible Love of God
Jesus says, “You did not choose Me, but I chose you” (John 15:16). Even our coming to Him is a product of His love for us. When we say, “I love You Jesus,” it’s because, at some point, His love was drawing us to His heart.
A Love That Transforms
Never wonder if God loves you. Instead, look within your heart. Do you love Him? If so, your love is proof of His love for you. May we pause to absorb the impact of God’s purposed love for us, allowing it to influence every aspect of our lives.
A Prayer of Devotion
Heavenly Father, help us to pause, to absorb into our consciousness the impact of Your purposed love for us. Let this wondrous love influence everything we think and all that we do, until, with all our heart, we love You, even as You have loved me.
