Relying on God’s Strength: Unlocking Your Destiny
The Myth of Self-Sufficiency
When it comes to fulfilling God’s plans for our lives, we often fall into the trap of thinking we can do it on our own. We believe that our own abilities, skills, and strengths are enough to get the job done. But the truth is, our competence comes from God alone (2 Corinthians 3:5). Unless we acknowledge our limitations and rely on His strength, we’ll never reach our full potential.
The Danger of Pretzel Logic
We often try to justify our independence from God by convincing ourselves that we can make decisions without Him and still stay connected to His plans. But this is nothing more than pretzel logic. When we make choices disconnected from God, our lives become indistinguishable from those of non-believers. We must recognize that our understanding of God’s truths comes from the Holy Spirit within us (1 Corinthians 2:14).
Tuning In to God’s Voice
So, how can we ensure we’re relying on God’s strength and not our own? The answer lies in cultivating a deeper relationship with Him. Ask God to teach you to hear His still, small voice and guide you through the decisions and details of your life. Then, pay attention to the ways He directs you. Keep a journal of the times you sense God giving you direction, and you’ll soon realize that He’s actively involved in every aspect of your life.
Embracing Our Inadequacy
The key to unlocking our destiny is to confess our inadequacy and rely on God’s strength. It’s only when we acknowledge our limitations that we can truly surrender to His plans. So, take the first step today. Admit that you can’t do it on your own, and ask God to take control. As you do, you’ll discover that His strength is more than enough to carry you through the Decade of Destiny ahead.
