Unlocking the Power of Obedience
A Life of Victory and Fruitfulness
Many Christians struggle with the idea of living a life fully surrendered to God. They may believe in Christ and have eternal life, but they’re hesitant to give up control and truly follow Him. This was the case with Pete, a self-proclaimed “playboy” who wanted to live the “good life” without fully committing to God.
The Connection Between Obedience and Blessing
Despite his many physical and emotional problems, Pete failed to recognize that his struggles were a direct result of his disobedience to God. The truth is, God’s supernatural resources are already within us, waiting to be unleashed by an act of faith and obedience. This is the key to living a life that is buoyant, joyful, victorious, and fruitful for God’s glory.
The Power of Obedience
Jesus Himself said, “He that hath My commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth Me: and he that loveth Me shall be loved of My Father, and I will love him, and will manifest Myself to him” (John 14:21, KJV). When we obey God, we demonstrate our love for Him, and in return, He releases His supernatural power in our lives. This power heals our bodies, minds, and spirits, enabling us to live a life that is truly supernatural.
A Promise of Deliverance
As Psalm 91:14-15 reminds us, “Because he loves me, I will rescue him; I will make him great because he trusts in My name. When he calls on Me I will answer, I will be with him in trouble, and rescue him and honor him.” This is a promise that is available to all who trust and obey God.
Today’s Action Point
Take a moment to acknowledge Jesus as the Lord of your life and demonstrate your love by obeying His commandments. As you do, you can be assured that He will be with you in trouble, deliver you, and honor you as He promised.
Reflection Question
What aspect of obeying the Lord do you struggle with most often? Take time to reflect on this question and ask God to give you the strength and courage to surrender fully to Him.
