Following God’s Guidance: Leadership That Honors Him

Leading the Way: The Power of Godly Guidance

As we watch children at play, we’re reminded of the natural leaders among them. I recall a sunny afternoon at the playground, where my grandson took charge, walking along the railroad ties surrounding the sandbox with arms outstretched for balance. One by one, other kids fell in line behind him, drawn to his confidence and charisma. This early display of leadership was just the beginning; he would go on to become president of his senior class.

The Temptation to Follow False Leaders

As adults, we’re often tempted to follow leaders who promise us the world. We get caught up in the excitement of popular movements, causes, and ideologies, taking our focus off Jesus. It’s easy to be swayed by the latest trend, but we must remember that God leads us on the path of righteousness.

Seeking Wisdom and Guidance

In scripture, we’re reminded to “do whatever He tells you,” just as Jesus’s mother instructed the servers at the wedding in Cana. While some truths are clear, others require us to dig deeper, seeking guidance from those more experienced in their spiritual journey. Leaders bear a great responsibility, and their choices impact many lives. We can pray for wisdom and guidance as we make important decisions, knowing that God sees the bigger picture.

God’s Perfect Plan

If we listen to God’s voice and wait for His direction, He will guide us to lead in a way that honors and glorifies Him. Scripture assures us that God’s way is perfect, and with Him, our plans will succeed. We can look to biblical heroes like Abraham, Moses, and Joshua, who succeeded when they looked to God and obeyed His commands.

Dependence on God

As we navigate life’s challenges, we can depend on God to lead us, just as He did with the heroes of our faith. By seeking His guidance and wisdom, we’ll be empowered to lead in a way that brings glory to Him and accomplishes His purposes for our lives.
