Finding Peace in Turbulent Times
When life’s storms rage on, we’re faced with a choice: let anxiety consume us or anchor ourselves in unwavering trust in God. As Colossians 3:2 reminds us, our focus should be on the eternal, the higher things that transcend our earthly struggles.
The Unshakeable God
In the face of uncertainty, when doubts and fears assail us, we must redirect our thoughts to the One who reigns supreme. God’s perspective is unparalleled, His wisdom unmatched. Psalm 83:18 declares Him “the most High over all the earth,” a truth that ought to humble and reassure us. The psalmist’s rhetorical question, “Who among the sons of the mighty is like the LORD?” (Psalm 83:18), underscores God’s uniqueness and power.
God’s Unwavering Sovereignty
Unlike us, God is impervious to pain, unaffected by economic turmoil, and unmoved by the whims of nature. Diseases cannot touch Him, and death has no claim on His eternal life. As Ephesians 3:20 affirms, God is “able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we ask or think.” Contemplating God’s holiness can be a transformative experience, one that inspires awe, stuns our senses, and chases away our troubles.
A Call to Reflection
In these turbulent times, let us fix our gaze on the God who sits enthroned above the chaos. May His splendor captivate us, may His presence comfort us, and may our trust in Him be the anchor that holds us fast.
