Unshaken Hope in Turbulent Times
Life is full of uncertainties, but one thing is certain: we will face troubles. God has been open about this reality, warning us that disease will afflict our bodies, divorce will break our hearts, and death will bring devastation. It’s essential to acknowledge these harsh realities, but we shouldn’t let them dictate our emotions.
The Devil’s Limited Power
When Satan shows up, cackling with glee, it’s natural to feel anxious. However, Jesus’ words in John 16:33 offer us comfort: “In this world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” Notice the past tense – “I HAVE overcome the world.” The battle is already won! We can remain alert without being alarmed, knowing that Satan’s time is short-lived.
A Brief Season of Struggle
Revelation 12:12 reveals the devil’s frantic state, “he is filled with fury because he knows that his time is short.” His reign of terror will soon come to an end, making way for a new beginning. As we navigate life’s challenges, we can draw strength from the knowledge that Jesus has already triumphed over the world.
A New Beginning Awaits
In the midst of turmoil, we can hold onto the promise of a brighter future. Jesus’ victory guarantees that Satan’s power will be limited, and his time will run out. As we look forward to this new beginning, we can find solace in the words of Max Lucado: “Just a few more turns in the road, and his end will come!”
