Redirecting Our Steps
When we make plans, we often assume we’re in control. But as Proverbs 16:9 reminds us, “We can make our plans, but the Lord determines our steps.” Perhaps the challenges we’re facing are a result of God redirecting us towards His original purpose.
The Dangers of Running Ahead
It’s easy to get ahead of ourselves, pushing forward with our own plans without consulting God. But when we do, He gently corrects our course, guiding us back onto the path He intended for us. The truth is, He knows what it takes for us to accomplish His will, and He’s willing to help us get there.
The Importance of Listening
God’s plan for our lives is one of good, not disaster, as Jeremiah 29:11 so beautifully puts it. But we must learn to trust Him and His plan. When we’re at a crossroads, it’s essential to stop, listen, and pay attention to His voice. By doing so, we can avoid confusion and uncertainty, and instead, move forward with confidence and hope.
A Prayer for Guidance
Father, I pray for those who are lost and without direction. May they come to You for guidance, and may You direct their paths. Open their ears to Your voice, and grant them wisdom and discernment in all they do. Help them to trust You, even when the road ahead seems uncertain. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Seeking God’s Wisdom
As we navigate life’s twists and turns, let’s remember to acknowledge God in all our ways. Let’s seek His guidance, trusting that He knows what’s best for us. And when we’re unsure of our next step, let’s take a deep breath, listen for His voice, and follow in obedience.
