Unlocking God’s Abundance in the New Year: A Pathway to Spiritual Success

Embracing Abundance in the New Year

As we step into a fresh year, our minds often wander back to the past 12 months. Memories of triumphs and tribulations flood our thoughts. Some of us will reflect on the blessings we’ve received, while others will recall the challenges they’ve faced.

A Year of Reflection

I’m reminded of a year when I found myself in the hospital on January 2nd, struggling with a severe asthmatic condition. Another memory that stands out is December 26th, 2004, when a devastating tsunami hit the coast of my homeland, Sri Lanka. And who can forget the disappointing year that felt like it was screaming, “What’s Another Year?”

The Psalm of Abundance

Psalm 65, a national psalm of praise, celebrates God’s goodness. It was sung after the spring rains brought life-giving water to the parched earth. This psalm takes on even greater significance when we’ve walked through a dry season.

God’s Goodness: A Crown of Abundance

In Psalm 65:11, God crowns the year with a bountiful harvest. A crown symbolizes royalty, excellence, and achievement. Are you ready to receive God’s crown of abundance in the New Year? This psalm highlights numerous acts of God’s goodness, reminding us that we may lack the finest things, but we’ll never lack what we need.

Abundance in Hard Places

The psalmist declares, “Even the hard pathways overflow with abundance.” Life will inevitably present us with challenging times, but God’s promise remains: His abundance will overflow in those difficult seasons. Perhaps the past year has been a dry season for you; believe that God’s abundance will overflow in the hard pathways ahead.

A Personal Testimony

I recall 2013, a year filled with health challenges. I faced two serious eye surgeries, and my wife battled Dengue Fever. Yet, God brought us through those trials, demonstrating His goodness and favor in the midst of hardship.

Prioritizing God

As we prepare our hearts for the year ahead, let’s remember to give God the first place in every area of our lives. Start each day with Him, prioritize Him in every decision, and give Him the first part of every paycheck. By doing so, we’ll experience spiritual success and receive God’s crown of goodness.

May you be blessed with abundance and a Christ-filled year ahead!
