Renewing Your Covenant with the Lord
As the apostle Paul reminds us in Philippians 2:13, “It is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.” Yet, sometimes we need to reassess our commitment to Him. Are you exhibiting signs of an unhealthy heart?
The Warning Signs
- A lack of hunger for God’s glory and true righteousness
- Idolizing self, success, or material possessions over God
- Feeling self-righteous, with no need for repentance
- Boasting about religious achievements or those of your church
- Ignoring God’s gentle voice and covering up spiritual emptiness
- Losing passion for sharing Christ with others
- Justifying personal sin while maintaining a facade of faithfulness
- Strained relationships marked by hostility or indifference
- Wasting time on fleeting pleasures with no eternal value
- Prioritizing personal desires over God’s will
- Giving out of obligation, rather than from the heart
A Call to Reflection
Take a moment to ask God to reveal areas in your life where He desires to work. Wait patiently and prayerfully for His guidance. Submit to Him fully, and pray: “With Your help, Father, I will seek You with all my heart and soul, that I may experience deep brokenness, genuine repentance, and a heart fully surrendered to You. I will seek You as my first Love and my Lord.”
