Finding Strength in Uncertainty: Trusting God Through Life’s Twists and Turns

Finding Strength in Uncertainty

Life is full of twists and turns, and we often find ourselves facing uncertain circumstances. The passage of time, confusing situations, and a lack of understanding about God’s plans can leave us feeling lost and overwhelmed. However, studying the lives of men and women in Scripture can provide us with valuable insights and inspiration.

Lessons from Moses

One such example is Moses, whose life was marked by unpredictability and hardship. Yet, despite the challenges he faced, Moses “endured, as seeing Him who is unseen” (Hebrews 11:27). The Greek root word for “endurance” refers to the capacity to bear up under difficulty, and Moses successfully persevered under pressure by keeping his focus on God.

Focusing on God

Moses’ example teaches us that when we face uncertainty, we should focus on God rather than the events surrounding us. This is what the Lord desires for us – not to make us comfortable, but to transform us into the image of His Son. And endurance plays a crucial role in this process.

God’s Goal: Transformation

It’s easy to get caught up in wanting to escape difficult situations as quickly as possible. But God’s aim is not to make us comfortable; it’s to transform us. Endurance helps us get there. When God calls us to endure pain, hardship, or uncertainty, we can find encouragement in knowing we’re never alone.

Comfort and Grace

Part of “seeing Him who is unseen” is realizing that God’s grace and comfort carry us through every situation. The Lord doesn’t want us to simply grit our teeth and bear hardship; He desires that we trust Him and bring glory to His name through our dependence.

Trusting God

By trusting God and depending on Him, we can find the strength to endure even the toughest challenges. We can learn to focus on God rather than our circumstances, and in doing so, we can bring glory to His name. In the midst of uncertainty, let us remember Moses’ example and find comfort in knowing that God is always with us.
