Finding Strength in God’s Sovereignty: Trusting in Uncertain Times

Embracing Trust in Uncertain Times

When darkness falls and uncertainty looms, it’s natural to feel lost and unsure. But in these moments, God invites us to lean into Him, to trust in His goodness and sovereignty.

Redirecting Our Focus

When the ground beneath us shakes, we can redirect our focus to God’s heart of love and power. We can trust that He is always present, always in control. As Psalm 31:19, 34:8, 100:5, 119:68, 136:1, and 145:7 remind us, God’s goodness is our anchor in turbulent times.

Sovereign God, All-Powerful and All-Knowing

We trust that God has all authority and power (Matthew 28:18). He knows the end from the beginning, and nothing takes Him by surprise (Isaiah 46:9-10). His Word is forever settled in heaven, and all things serve Him (Psalm 119:89, 91).

The Blood of Jesus Covers All

We trust that there is no circumstance, person, place, or time that the blood of Jesus does not cover. God, who spared not His own Son, will freely give us His best (Romans 8:31-32). Nothing can separate us from His love, which was settled on the cross of Jesus (Romans 8:35-39).

God’s Loving Kindness and Faithfulness

We trust that God’s loving kindness never ceases, and His compassions never fail. They are new every morning, and His great faithfulness endures (Lamentations 3:22-23). He knows and cares about us, numbering the very hairs of our head (Matthew 10:30, Philippians 4:19).

God’s Abundant Grace and Power

We trust that God supplies all our needs through His riches in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). He shows His perfect power in our weakness (2 Corinthians 9:8, 12:9-10). He is our shield, strong tower, refuge, hope, joy, peace, and everything (Psalm 18:1-3, Colossians 3:11b).

God’s Presence and Comfort

We trust that God never leaves us nor forsakes us. He is with us, a very present help, and never goes back on a promise (Hebrews 13:5-6, Joshua 21:45). He guards what we have entrusted to Him (2 Timothy 1:12). He is God of all comfort, Father of mercies, with a heart that tears can touch (2 Corinthians 1:3-4, Hebrews 4:15, Psalm 56:8).

God’s Glory and Our Good

We trust that God does all things for our good and His glory, to make us like Jesus (Romans 8:28-29). When we lift Him up in a sacrifice of praise, we glorify Him in the here-and-now (Psalm 22:3 NASB, Hebrews 13:15). Father, glorify Yourself this hour (John 12:28a). In Jesus’ name, amen.
