The Shepherd’s Gentle Guidance
Lost and Found
I was once consumed by my own desires, shrouded in darkness and clouded judgment. But then, something remarkable happened. The Lord himself intervened, seeking me out when I wasn’t even looking for him. It was as if He had been searching for me all along, just as Ezekiel 34:11-12 describes: “I myself will search for my sheep and look after them… I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness.”
Our Vulnerability
Like sheep, we are prone to wander and become vulnerable to the whims of life. Without a shepherd, we’re defenseless against the dangers that lurk around every corner. Our natural tendency is to stray, just as Isaiah 53:6 reminds us: “We all, like sheep, have gone astray.” But thankfully, God is never far away, always available to guide us (Acts 17:27).
A Shepherd Like No Other
Unlike the cruel shepherds of Ezekiel’s time, Jesus is a gentle and compassionate guide. He strengthens the weak, binds up the broken, and seeks out the lost. He called my name, leading me out of the darkness and into the light. As John 10:11, 27-28 declares, “I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep… My sheep listen to my voice. I know them and they follow me. I give them eternal life and they shall never perish.”
Following the Right Voice
Why settle for following strangers who don’t have your best interests at heart? They’ll abandon you at the first sign of trouble. Instead, follow Jesus, who leads with kindness and wisdom. As John 10:4 says, “When he has brought out all his own, he goes ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.”
A Heartfelt Prayer
If you’re ready to surrender your life to Christ, start with a simple yet powerful prayer: “Lord Jesus, I want to know You personally. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life to You and ask You to come in as my Savior and Lord. Take control of my life. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be.” This is just the beginning of an incredible journey with Jesus.
