The Unparalleled Majesty of God
In a world filled with uncertainty and chaos, it’s easy to lose sight of the One who remains unshaken and unchanged. Moses’ declaration in Exodus 15:11 still resonates today: “Who among the gods is like you, Lord? Who is like you—majestic in holiness?” This question echoes through the ages, a reminder of God’s incomparable nature.
A Holiness Beyond Human Understanding
The psalmist wondered, “Who in the skies is comparable to the Lord? Who among the sons of the mighty is like the Lord” (Psalm 89:6). The answer, of course, is no one. God’s holiness is not just a characteristic; it’s the essence of His being. He is not just holy or holy, holy – He is wholly unlike us. Unlike us, He is not plagued by pain, fazed by economic downturns, or defined by elections. Diseases cannot infect Him, and death cannot claim Him.
The God of Exceeding Abundance
In Ephesians 3:20, we’re reminded that God is “able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think.” This is not a God who is limited by our imagination or bound by our understanding. He is the Mountain Mover, the One who can move mountains and calm storms.
Pondering the Holiness of God
In a world that often seems overwhelming, it’s easy to focus on the mountain rather than the Mountain Mover. But what if we shifted our gaze? What if we stared less at our problems and more at the One who can solve them? As we ponder the holiness of God, let His splendor stun us and inspire us. Let us be awed by His majesty and humbled by His power.
A Call to Worship
As we reflect on the unparalleled majesty of God, may our response be one of worship and adoration. May we be drawn to His throne, where we can bask in the glory of His presence. For in His holiness, we find hope, comfort, and peace.
