When God Nudges: A Leap of Faith in the Snow

A Winter of Wonder

A Chance Encounter

It was a frigid winter morning, and the buses were on strike. As I drove through the snow-covered streets, I came across a student from Africa, shivering in the cold. He was new to Canada and had never experienced winter before. I offered him a ride, and as we chatted, I noticed he wasn’t wearing gloves. In that moment, I felt a gentle nudge from God, urging me to give him my own gloves and share a message of love.

A Leap of Faith

At first, I hesitated. What would the student think? How would he react? But as we approached his destination, I decided to surrender my fears and take a leap of faith. I handed him my gloves and told him that God loved him. He thanked me, took the gloves, and stepped out into the cold.

A Surprising Turn of Events

As I drove home, my phone rang. A friend was on the other end, asking if I needed a pair of gloves. Before I could respond, she explained that she had bought a pair for her son, but they didn’t fit. For some reason, she thought of me. It was as if God had orchestrated the entire encounter.

The Power of Obedience

God knows everything – the number of stars in the sky, the hairs on our heads, and even when a small bird falls to the ground (Luke 12:6-8). He can guide us to special places and moments if we listen and act on his direction. We may never see the results, but we can trust that our simple obedience fits into his good plan.

A Heartfelt Prayer

Lord, I confess that I often rely on my own thoughts and perceptions. I want your spirit to guide me in every area of my life. Help me to listen to your gentle nudges and take leaps of faith, trusting that you are working everything out for good. Amen.
