A Permanent Mark of Love
In the midst of a routine hospital visit for surgery, I stumbled upon a fascinating revelation. The medical team utilized cutting-edge technology, where surgeons operated with precision, guided by computer screens and robotic instruments. Yet, it was during the admission process that I encountered a remarkable moment of connection with my faith.
A Unique Identification
As I placed my hand on a small cradle, a photograph of my palm was taken for identification purposes. The admitting staff explained that palm prints, when fed into specialized software, are more reliable than fingerprints for identification. In that instant, a biblical verse echoed in my mind: “Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands” (Isaiah 49:14-16).
A Divine Reminder
This phrase, spoken by God to Zion, resonated deeply within me. It’s as if God Himself had taken note of me, inscribing my identity on the palm of His hand. Have you ever, in a moment of urgency, jotted down a phone number or reminder on your palm to ensure you wouldn’t forget? God has done the same, only His note is eternal and unwavering.
A Promise of Unwavering Love
God’s declaration is clear: “I will not forget you. I have carved you on the palm of My hand. I have called you by your name. You are mine. You are precious to Me. I love you.” In a world where forgetfulness is common, God’s promise stands as a beacon of hope. He has etched us on His palm, a permanent mark of love that transcends human frailty.
As I reflect on this experience, I am reminded of the depth of God’s love and commitment to us. May we find comfort in the knowledge that we are forever etched on the palm of His hand, a testament to His unwavering devotion.
