Trusting God’s Strength in Our Weakness

Embracing Our Weaknesses, Trusting in God’s Strength

When God calls, we often respond with excuses. “But God, I’m not qualified.” “But God, I don’t have a degree.” “But God, others are more capable.” These phrases echo through our minds, convincing us that we’re not enough. Yet, God’s response remains the same: “Go in the strength you have” (Judges 6:14).

The Assignment Requires More Than We Can Imagine

God’s plans are always bigger than our abilities. He calls us to do the impossible, stretching us beyond our comfort zones. This is exactly what happened to Gideon in Judges Chapter six. Despite feeling weak and inadequate, God commissioned him to battle the Midianites. Gideon’s initial hesitation is relatable; we’ve all been there, doubting our abilities and comparing ourselves to others.

A Wake-Up Call: Trusting in God’s Qualifications

I’ve had similar conversations with God, listing my inadequacies and questioning my calling. But then I realized: if God has called me, I don’t need anyone else’s approval. I am enough because He qualified me. This understanding brought freedom and empowerment. God isn’t concerned with our qualifications; He’s looking for willingness and obedience.

God’s Master Plan: Using the Foolish to Confound the Wise

God often chooses the unexpected to accomplish His purposes. When we compare ourselves to others, we limit God’s power. Instead, we should focus on His strength, recognizing that it’s not by our might or power, but by His Spirit (Zechariah 4:6).

The Challenge: Accepting the Assignment

Today, I challenge you to accept the assignment God has given you. Go in the strength you have, trusting that He has equipped you for the task. Remember, you already have what it takes to succeed.

Prayer

Abba, it’s only by Your grace that we can walk out the assignment You’ve given us. Help us focus on Your strength, not our own, in our times of weakness. Thank You for choosing us to partner with You in advancing the Kingdom of God. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
