The Call to True Discipleship
In today’s Christian landscape, a concerning trend has emerged. Many believers have accepted Christ as their Savior, but fail to acknowledge Him as the Lord of their lives. They may have sought salvation to secure a spot in heaven or to overcome personal struggles, but they have not fully surrendered to trust, obey, and serve Him as a way of life.
The Heart of True Discipleship
Our Lord never intended for us to be mere acquaintances. He desires a deep, committed relationship with each of us, where we dedicate ourselves to following and lifting up His holy name to the world. Anything less than wholehearted devotion is unacceptable to Him.
The Mark of a True Disciple
When we confess Christ as our Lord, we acknowledge Him as our Master for life. Our deepest desire becomes doing what He wants us to do, seeking His guidance not for personal gain, but for His glory. We discipline ourselves to study and obey His Word, proclaim His love to those around us, and strive to think, speak, and act in a way that attracts others to Him.
The Misconception of Easy Faith
Some may think that this kind of commitment is too difficult or irrelevant, but they miss the point. The Christian life is not just a means of escaping hell; it is a life of submission and obedience that results in joy and victory.
A Life of Total Commitment
So, who are you? Are you a casual acquaintance of Christ, or a fully dedicated disciple? May we pray for the power and courage to be totally committed to loving, honoring, and serving Him every day.
