Dare to Live Fearless: Embracing God’s Truth and Stepping into Faith

Fearless Living: Embracing God’s Truth

As I reflect on Psalm 118:6, “The Lord is for me, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?”, I’m reminded of the transformative power of faith. A few years ago, I abandoned the traditional New Year’s resolutions, tired of the guilt and disappointment that came with failed promises. Instead, I adopted a new approach: choosing a single word to focus on, trusting that God would shape me through it.

Breaking Free from Fear

My word for the past year was DARE. For much of my life, fear had been the dominant force, holding me back from living fully. Fear of failure, fear of others’ opinions, fear of the unknown – it was a constant companion, lurking in every shadow. But as I journeyed deeper into God’s truth, I began to realize that fear was a liar, and that God’s presence could penetrate even the darkest corners of my heart.

Do I Really Believe?

It’s easy to proclaim that God is bigger than our fears, greater than our problems, and stronger than any obstacle. But do we truly live like we believe it? For me, choosing the word DARE was a bold step of faith. It meant daring to do what God called me to do, even when it felt scary or uncertain.

Stepping Out in Faith

This year, I’ve had the privilege of sharing the love of Jesus with people around the world – in the Dominican Republic, Zambia, and India. And this is just the beginning. As I look back, I’m reminded that when I truly believe God is for me, fear loses its grip. So, I ask you: do you believe God is bigger than your fear? What will your word be this year?

A Prayer for Courage

Lord, forgive us for making you small and trusting in ourselves instead of you. Teach us who you are and give us the courage to step out in faith, embracing the life you’re calling us to. We dare to do what you want us to do. Amen.
