The Power of Choice: A Lesson for Life
As parents, we’ve all been there – teaching our children the value of making good choices. It’s a simple yet powerful lesson: make good choices, reap the rewards; make bad choices, face the consequences. Our kids quickly learn which path to take. But as we grow older, the choices become more complex, and the stakes are higher.
God’s Blueprint for Success
The Bible offers a similar message. In Isaiah 1:19, God tells the Israelites, “If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land.” It seems like an easy choice – who wouldn’t want the best? But our sinful nature often gets in the way, leading us down the wrong path.
The Struggle is Real
Before God’s covenant of grace, it was impossible for humans to keep the law as required. God knew this, but He wanted us to understand the difficulty of living life without Him. Under grace, we have the power of the Holy Spirit to guide us, even when we falter. And if we make mistakes, we have an advocate in Jesus, interceding on our behalf.
A Second Chance
God’s grace doesn’t give us a free pass to sin, but it does offer us a second chance to get it right. When we fail, the consequences can be a wake-up call, urging us to make better choices. The question is, will we take advantage of God’s grace and choose wisely?
A Daily Prayer
Father, guide me daily as I make decisions in my everyday life and relationships. Help me to see clearly the error of my own ways. I admit I need your grace in my life daily in order for me to experience your best. Amen.
