Building Unshakeable Faith

As Christians, we’ve all uttered these words at some point: “I wish I had more faith.” But wishing isn’t enough; faith is like a muscle that must be exercised to grow strong. It’s a process that involves increasing degrees of trust throughout our lives. The question is, how do we move from little faith to great faith?

The Progression of Faith

Little faith hopes that God will come through; strong faith knows that He will; and great faith believes that He already has. Elijah, a man of great faith, saw challenges as opportunities for God to work supernaturally. We can too. While God may not perform every miracle we ask for, He does extraordinary work in and through each person who trusts Him.

Overcoming Self-Doubt

You might be thinking, “I’m not good enough for God to use me.” But the Scriptures are filled with examples of flawed people whom God used to achieve His purposes. He’s looking for willingness, not perfection. Not only does He work through people of faith; He transforms them.

Growing Your Faith

So, how do you start building unshakeable faith? Begin by reading God’s Word to learn what He wants you to do. Each day’s situations and needs are opportunities to trust Him. Ask the Lord to bring to mind verses that apply to your circumstances. Trust Him and do what He says – your faith “muscles” will grow, and He will be glorified.

A Life of Obedience

Faith is not a spiritual plateau; it’s a journey of increasing trust. As you exercise your faith, you’ll see God work in extraordinary ways. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t see immediate results. Keep trusting, and know that God is working behind the scenes. With each step of obedience, your faith will grow, and you’ll become a vessel for God’s supernatural work.
