Finding Time for God in a Busy World

The Constant Hum of Distractions

We live in a world where constant connectivity is the norm. Our phones are always within reach, buzzing with notifications, emails, and social media updates. It’s easy to feel like we’re always “on” and available 24/7. This non-stop stream of information can be overwhelming, making it difficult to carve out quiet time with God.

The Blessing and Curse of Global Communication

On one hand, global communication has opened up incredible opportunities for spreading the Gospel, conducting business, and staying in touch with loved ones. On the other hand, it can be a significant time-suck, leaving us feeling drained and disconnected from our spiritual roots.

The Invitation to Intimacy

Yet, God longs to spend quality time with us. He desires to communicate with us, to guide us, and to shower us with love. Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross made it possible for us to have a direct line to God’s eternal presence – 24/7. He’s always waiting to engage with us, to whisper words of encouragement, and to offer wisdom.

Squeezing Our Day into God’s Time

Rather than trying to fit God into our busy schedules, what if we flipped the script? What if we prioritized our time with God and allowed Him to shape our daily routines? When we acknowledge God’s constant presence, we begin to see that our days are filled with opportunities to connect with Him.

Practical Ways to Squeeze God into Your Day

• Talk to God while stuck in traffic or waiting in line.
• Pray while showering or getting ready for the day.
• Listen for the gentle whisper of His Spirit guiding you throughout your daily activities.

A Prayer for Awareness

Holy Lord, forgive us when we neglect to include You in our daily lives. Help us to cultivate awareness of Your presence, love, and guidance. Thank You for the gift of Your Son’s sacrifice, which makes it possible for us to experience Your constant companionship. Amen.
