Seeing People Through Jesus’ Eyes

As we navigate our daily lives, it’s easy to get caught up in our own perspectives and biases. We may view others as annoying, frustrating, or even invisible. But what if we could see people through the eyes of Jesus?

A New Perspective

In John 9:3, Jesus says, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned… but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life.” This statement challenges us to shift our focus from judgment to compassion. Instead of seeing people as flawed or imperfect, we can view them as opportunities for God’s work to be done.

The Work of God

But what exactly is this “work of God”? Jesus answers this question in John 6:28-29: “To believe in the One he has sent.” In other words, the work of God is to bring people into a relationship with Him through faith in Jesus Christ.

Praying for a New Perspective

Let’s ask God to help us see people through Jesus’ eyes. We can pray for patience with those who are difficult, tenderness with those who are hurting, and boldness with those who are ready to hear the Good News of Jesus. As we pray, let’s remember that every person we meet is an opportunity for God’s work to be done.

Transforming Our Interactions

When we see people through Jesus’ eyes, our interactions with them begin to transform. We become more patient, kind, and compassionate. We start to see the potential for God’s work to be done in their lives, and we become more intentional about sharing the love of Christ with them.

A Prayer for Transformation

Father, please help me see the people around me as Jesus does. Give me patience, tenderness, and boldness as I interact with them. Help me to see the potential for Your work to be done in their lives, and use me to share the Good News of Jesus with them. In the name of Christ Jesus, I pray. Amen.
