The Power of Prioritizing Jesus

Imagine having the opportunity to sit at the feet of Jesus, gazing into His eyes, and listening to every word He speaks. Wouldn’t all the worries and cares of the world suddenly fade away? Our to-do lists and duties would pale in comparison to the magnitude of being in His presence.

A Lesson from Mary

In Luke 10:38-42, we find a poignant account of two sisters, Martha and Mary. While Martha is busy serving, Mary chooses to sit at Jesus’ feet, listening intently to His words. When Martha complains about her sister’s lack of help, Jesus gently rebukes her, saying, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”

The Choice We Must Make

Mary’s decision to prioritize time with Jesus is a powerful reminder of what truly matters. It’s not about personality types or individual traits, but about recognizing the importance of spending quality time with our Lord. In a world filled with distractions, it’s easy to get caught up in our daily tasks and obligations. However, Mary’s example shows us that making time for Jesus is essential.

What Would You Do?

If you had the chance to sit at Jesus’ feet, wouldn’t you want to trade places with Mary or join her in those precious moments? The question is, will we make the same choice as Mary? Will we prioritize our time with Jesus, setting aside our worldly concerns and focusing on the One who truly matters?

The Ultimate Priority

In the end, it’s not about what we do or accomplish, but about Who we spend our time with. By making Jesus our top priority, we can experience a deeper sense of peace, joy, and fulfillment. So, let’s take a cue from Mary and choose to sit at Jesus’ feet, listening to His words and basking in His presence.
