Faith in the Face of Uncertainty
As we navigate life’s twists and turns, we’re often left wondering if we can truly trust in God. Does He have our backs, even when the road ahead seems uncertain? The answer lies in the words of Jeremiah 17:7-8, which reminds us that those who trust in the Lord will be like trees planted by the water, unshaken by the heat of adversity.
A Legacy of Faithfulness
We may not have lived during the time of Jesus or Jeremiah, but we have the benefit of hindsight. We can look back on the incredible stream of God’s work throughout history and see His faithfulness to His people. This knowledge gives us the courage to launch into the future with boldness, knowing that God is always with us (Psalm 139).
A Prayer for Presence
In the midst of our daily lives, it’s easy to feel alone. But the truth is, God is always with us. We can pray, “Holy God, I know you are there! In the morning, in the evening, in the long nights, I know I am not alone. Thank you for knowing me and going with me through all my days.” As we seek to honor Him in what we do and say, we can ask for His presence to be made known to us.
Trust in Action
So what does it mean to trust in God? It means we can face the future without fear, knowing that He has our best interests at heart. It means we can turn our tangled thoughts into trust, as Bethany Hayes writes. And it means we can find salvation in Him, as explained in Scripture. As we go about our day, let’s remember to trust in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him.
