A Life Consumed by Christ
As believers, we weren’t always devoted to living for Jesus. It wasn’t until the Holy Spirit convicted us of our sin and revealed the Savior’s sacrifice on the cross that our hearts were transformed. From the moment of our spiritual rebirth, our lives took on a new purpose: to live for Christ.
The Pearl of Great Price
Jesus is the treasure we cherish above all else. We’re willing to surrender everything for Him, and our love beats solely for His glory. He’s the pattern we strive to follow, the model we aim to replicate in our own lives. When Paul declared, “For me to live is Christ,” he meant that his very existence was wrapped up in Jesus. Every breath, every thought, every heartbeat belonged to Him.
A Life of Undivided Devotion
Can you honestly say that your life reflects this same devotion? Do you live for Christ in every aspect of your life, including your job? Or are you driven by self-interest and personal gain? If we claim to live for Christ, how can we justify living for any other purpose without committing spiritual adultery?
Halfhearted Commitment vs. Wholehearted Surrender
While many of us may live for Christ halfheartedly, few can say they’ve fully surrendered their lives to Him like the apostle Paul. Yet, this is the true essence of the Christian life. Our source of nourishment and sustenance comes from Christ alone.
A Prayer of Surrender
Lord, accept me. I present myself, praying to live only in You and for You. Let my life be a ready sacrifice to You, and let my motto be, “For me to live is Christ.” May my every breath, every thought, and every heartbeat belong to You alone.
