The Perfect Timing of God

As I watched the Olympics, I was struck by the crucial role timing played in every event. A fraction of a second could mean the difference between a gold medal and a bronze. It wasn’t just about the overall finishing time, but also the timing going into a curve or over a mogul. Many athletes attributed their success or failure to their timing.

A Lesson in Patience

I must admit, I’m an impatient person who likes things done my way and on my schedule. But as a Christian, I’m learning to trust God’s timing, even when it’s hard. Waiting is one of the most challenging aspects of the Christian life for me. It’s difficult to set aside my own plans and trust that God has a better way.

When Things Don’t Go as Planned

Perhaps you’re waiting for God to answer your prayers right now, and things aren’t turning out as you hoped. Your hopes and dreams may seem like they’ll never be fulfilled. It’s natural to wonder why God doesn’t allow things to happen now. But I’m learning that God works things out in His own perfect timing.

Trusting God’s Plan

As we wait for God’s timing, He may allow us to go through trials. But we can trust Him because He knows everything about us. He created us, and His plans are always good. We can surrender our lives to Him, knowing that He’s always right on time.

A Prayer of Surrender

“God, I surrender my life to You in every respect. Help me live every day to the fullest on Your timetable and fill me with the joy of knowing that You are in control. Amen.”

A Call to Trust

Identify one area where you’re struggling to trust God’s timing. Hand that concern over to Him in prayer and choose to trust His good plans for you. Remember, God’s timing is perfect, and He’s always working things out for our good.
