Faith in the Face of Adversity
The Chicago area recently experienced an extraordinary downpour, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. Our building was not spared, as the surrounding area was submerged underwater for several blocks, resulting in 20 inches of water flooding our first-floor offices.
Rising to the Challenge
Despite the devastating impact, our staff has shown remarkable resilience and dedication. Within a day, key personnel were relocated, vital IT resources were moved, and customer service teams were set up at our off-site warehouse. However, the road to recovery will be long, with rebuilding and refurbishment efforts expected to take four to six months.
A Test of Faith
As we navigate this challenging period, we are reminded that our confidence lies not in our own abilities but in the Lord. In His providence, we have faced both flood and fire in recent years, yet our trust in Him remains unwavering. Scripture offers us comfort and encouragement:
- “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you” (Isaiah 43:2).
- “But that was to make us rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead. He delivered us from such deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will deliver us again” (2 Corinthians 1:9).
- “We went through fire and through water, yet you have brought us out to a place of abundance” (Psalm 66:12).
Gratitude and Hope
We are deeply grateful for the support and partnership of our friends and ministry partners. Your prayers, encouragement, and help during this time of trial mean the world to us. As we recover from the flood, we see this as an opportunity to trust the Lord to accomplish far beyond anything we can ask or think – to continue providing God’s Word and gospel-centered resources to serve the church, proclaim the gospel, and reach a world desperately lost without Christ.
May the Lord use this challenge to bring us closer to Himself, for the furtherance of the gospel, and for the display of His glory.
With our sincere appreciation,
