“Iran’s Secret Christians: A Growing Movement in the Shadows”

A New Era for Christianity in Iran

In a country where the Bible is banned, a surprising phenomenon is unfolding. Despite decades of Islamic rule, Iran is experiencing a surge in Christianity, with many Muslims converting to the faith.

From Islam to Christianity

Nima Alizadeh, an Iranian convert to Christianity, shares his remarkable story. Born into a nominal Muslim family, Nima was taught the ways of Islam from a young age. However, as he grew older, he began to question the faith of his upbringing. His uncle, who had become a Christian while living in the United States, played a significant role in Nima’s conversion.

A Growing Hunger for God

As more Iranians turn away from Islam, a growing hunger for God is emerging. House churches are springing up, despite the risks of persecution. Nima notes that the thirst for God is palpable, but Iranian Christian communities often lack access to theologically sound teaching.

Revelation Ministries: A Beacon of Hope

In response to this need, Nima founded Revelation Ministries in 2015. This online ministry provides Farsi-speaking Christians with quality teaching and discipleship. The response has been overwhelming, with hundreds of believers participating in online discipleship groups.

A Famine of Christian Resources

However, a significant challenge remains. The Iranian government has severely restricted access to Christian resources, leaving a famine of biblical materials. Nima’s ministry has partnered with organizations to translate and distribute Christian books, including works by D.A. Carson and Kevin DeYoung.

A New Door Opens for the Gospel

As many Muslims in Iran and beyond seek alternatives to Islam, a new door is opening for the gospel. Nima is confident that God is working in Iran, and the harvest is plentiful. The question is, will there be enough laborers to reap the harvest?

Prayer Requests

  • Pray for more believers to join Nima’s online discipleship groups.
  • Pray for editors to support the work of translating Christian resources into Farsi.
  • Pray for organizations to continue providing applicable resources for Revelation Ministries and others.

The Future of Christianity in Iran

As the church in Iran continues to grow, it is clear that a new era has begun. Despite the challenges, there is hope for a brighter future, one where Iranians can freely worship and serve the Lord.
