A New Chapter for Crossway: Josh Dennis Takes the Helm
After a thorough search process spanning 20 months, the Crossway Board of Directors is pleased to announce the unanimous election of Josh Dennis as the ministry’s new President. As the son of outgoing President Dr. Lane Dennis and his wife Ebeth, Josh has been closely associated with Crossway since its inception.
A Legacy of Leadership
Josh brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served as one of Crossway’s four Executive Vice Presidents and overseeing the areas of Design, Marketing, Video, and Digital Media. His creative excellence, fiscal responsibility, and humble leadership style have earned him the respect of his colleagues and the Board.
A Commitment to Gospel-Centered Publishing
As a not-for-profit ministry, Crossway has remained faithful to its founding vision of publishing gospel-centered literature for over 80 years. Josh is deeply committed to this mission, having played a strategic role in several major projects, including the development of the ESV Reader’s Bible and the ESV Illuminated Bible.
A Season of Transition
As Josh assumes his new role, he will succeed his father, Dr. Lane Dennis, who will continue to serve as CEO alongside Ebeth Dennis as co-CEO. The Board has also approved the promotion of Dr. Dane Ortlund to Chief Publishing Officer and Bible Publisher, and Anthony Gosling to Chief Operating Officer.
A Bright Future Ahead
Reflecting on the future of the company, Josh said, “By God’s grace, Crossway has remained faithful to our original vision. To carry that vision forward into the next generation, we must remain focused on our ministry calling – helping people understand the massive implications of the gospel and the truth of God’s Word.”
A Ministry with a Rich History
Crossway was founded in 1978 by Lane and Ebeth Dennis as a ministry of Good News Publishers, which was established by Josh’s grandparents, Clyde and Muriel Dennis, in 1938. Today, Crossway publishes over 1,000 book titles in 70 languages, exemplifying its commitment to gospel-centered publishing.
A Leader with a Servant’s Heart
Josh’s leadership style is characterized by humility, kindness, and a deep love for God’s Word. As he takes the helm at Crossway, he is surrounded by a talented team of leaders who share his passion for gospel-centered publishing. Together, they will continue to advance the ministry’s mission, trusting in God’s provision and guidance.
