Finding Peace in Uncertainty: Building on the Rock of Christ

Finding Peace in the Midst of Uncertainty

Do you ever lie awake at night, wondering if life is passing you by? You’re not alone. We’ve all been there – feeling like we’re not measuring up, like our dreams are slipping through our fingers. But what if I told you that there’s a way to find peace in the midst of uncertainty?

The Illusion of Control

As children, we’re encouraged to dream big, to imagine what our lives will be like when we grow up. We draw pictures of our future homes, our families, our careers. But as we get older, reality sets in. We realize that life doesn’t always turn out as planned. We face setbacks, disappointments, and uncertainties. And it’s easy to get caught up in the idea that we’re somehow behind, that we’re not living up to our potential.

The Rock of Christ

But here’s the thing: our lives are not defined by our accomplishments or our failures. They’re defined by our relationship with God. In Matthew 7:24, Jesus says, “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” The rock of Christ is the foundation of our lives, the source of our strength and our hope.

Building on the Rock

So, how do we build our lives on the rock of Christ? We start by recognizing that our lives are not about us, but about Him. We surrender our plans, our dreams, our fears to Him. We trust in His goodness, His sovereignty, and His love. And we seek to follow Him, to obey His commands, to live according to His word.

The Freedom of Eternity

When we build our lives on the rock of Christ, we’re free from the pressure of performing, from the need to measure up. We’re free to live in the present, to enjoy the journey, to trust in God’s plan for our lives. And we’re free to look forward to eternity, to the life that’s yet to come.

No More Fear of Being Behind

So, the next time you find yourself lying awake at night, wondering if life is passing you by, remember this: you’re not behind. You’re exactly where God wants you to be. And when you trust in Him, you’ll find peace, joy, and contentment, no matter what life brings.
