African Church Leaders to Benefit from New Book Distribution
Thanks to the generosity of donors, a recent fundraising campaign has successfully raised $125,000 to distribute and translate Conrad Mbewe’s book, “God’s Design for the Church in Africa,” to pastors and ministry leaders across the continent.
Reaching a Wider Audience
Plans are already underway to translate the book into five common trade languages spoken throughout Africa: French, Swahili, Portuguese, Amharic, and Zulu. This will make the book accessible to African church leaders across the continent, helping to strengthen their understanding of God’s design for the church.
The Growth of Christianity in Africa
The number of Christians in Africa has grown exponentially over the past century, from approximately 9 million at the beginning of the twentieth century to around 380 million by the end of the century. Despite this remarkable growth, many believers are unaware of the challenges and opportunities facing the African church.
Beyond Economic Poverty
Major news outlets often focus on the economic poverty and social deprivation that characterizes much of Africa, but this can lead to a lack of awareness about the amazing work God is doing in his church across the continent. By looking beyond the headlines, we can gain a deeper understanding of the issues facing local congregations and how we can support them.
Dispelling Misconceptions
Conrad Mbewe, author of “God’s Design for the Church in Africa,” shares his insights on what American Christians should know about the church in Africa. He dispels common misconceptions and highlights some of the big issues facing local congregations, providing a valuable perspective on the complexities of the African church.
The Need for Biblical Doctrine
The church needs the light of truth that comes from biblical doctrines recovered during the Reformation. By partnering with African church leaders and supporting the distribution of books like “God’s Design for the Church in Africa,” we can help strengthen the African church and promote a deeper understanding of God’s word.
