Crossway Embarks on a New Chapter: Josh Dennis to Lead Gospel-Centered Publishing Ministry

A New Chapter for Crossway: Leadership Transition and a Continued Commitment to Gospel-Centered Publishing

After nearly two decades of dedicated service, Lane and Ebeth Dennis are stepping down from their positions as CEO and Co-CEO of Crossway, a not-for-profit publishing ministry of Good News Publishers. This transition marks the culmination of an extensive process initiated by the Crossway Board of Directors over three years ago. Josh Dennis, previously appointed as President in 2019, will be confirmed as the new President and CEO at the upcoming Board Meeting on August 13, 2021.

A Legacy of Faithful Leadership

Dr. Paul House, Chair of the Crossway Nominating Committee, praised Josh’s exceptional leadership, creativity, and commitment to Christian character. “Throughout his nineteen-year tenure at Crossway, Josh has demonstrated outstanding leadership, humility, and a deep understanding of the publishing industry,” Dr. House noted. “The Crossway Board is confident that Josh is the Lord’s choice to lead Crossway into the next generation.”

A Continued Commitment to Gospel-Centered Publishing

Crossway was founded in 1978 by Lane and Ebeth Dennis as an extension of Good News Publishers, which was established by Josh’s grandparents, Clyde and Muriel Dennis, in 1938. Over the years, Crossway has remained faithful to its original vision of publishing gospel-centered literature. Today, the ministry publishes over 1,000 book titles in 100 languages worldwide, with more than 700 authors contributing to its catalog.

A Vision for the Future

Reflecting on the future of Crossway, Josh Dennis emphasized the importance of remaining faithful to the ministry’s original calling. “Our vision and calling now is to help people understand the massive implications of the gospel and the truth of God’s word, for all of life, for all eternity, and for the glory of God alone,” Josh noted. With his leadership, Crossway will continue to expand its reach through gospel-centered publishing, digital initiatives, and partnerships with ministry partners around the world.

A Heartfelt Tribute

Lane and Ebeth Dennis expressed their gratitude to the Crossway Board of Directors for their confirmation and appointment of Josh as President and CEO. “We are deeply grateful to the Crossway Board for their trust in Josh’s leadership and their commitment to the ministry’s original vision,” Lane noted. As they step down from their positions, they leave behind a legacy of faithful leadership and a continued commitment to gospel-centered publishing.
