The Pro-Life Movement: A Call to Action
As we reflect on the state of our world, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the bleak picture that surrounds us. However, I firmly believe that the pro-life cause is not as hopeless as it seems. In fact, I’m convinced that we’re making an impact right now.
But to truly win the battle against abortion, we need to take a step back and assess our strategy. We need to ask ourselves: what are the necessary steps we must take to succeed? Here are three crucial actions we can start implementing today:
Recruiting Full-Time Pro-Life Workers
Gregg Cunningham once said, “There are more people working full-time to kill babies than there are working full-time to save them.” This statement is a stunning indictment of our movement. We simply don’t have enough full-time pro-life workers, and unless we get serious about finding them, our movement will remain a part-time volunteer effort incapable of taking on the heavily funded professionals from Planned Parenthood and other pro-choice organizations.
So, what can we do? Churches can start by recruiting missionaries for the pro-life movement. We can encourage young people to study law and seek political office, while others pursue careers in pro-life apologetics. We can also support organizations that provide graduate-level training in Christian apologetics and bioethics.
Equipping the Next Generation
As I travel the country speaking in Protestant and Catholic high schools, I’m constantly reminded of the importance of equipping the next generation with the tools they need to defend their pro-life views. Students tell me time and again that they’ve never heard a pro-life talk like mine before. They’re eager to learn, and they’re hungry for the truth.
But we’re not just talking about presenting facts and figures; we’re talking about showing the reality of abortion. We’re talking about using graphic visuals to convey the horror of this practice. Now, I know some people might say, “But won’t this approach turn people off?” And my response is, “Not if we use these visuals wisely and compassionately.”
Using Graphic Visuals Wisely
Let’s be honest: abortion is a gruesome practice, and it’s essential that we convey this reality in a way that’s both honest and compassionate. We’re not trying to shock or offend; we’re trying to educate and persuade. By using graphic visuals in a responsible and sensitive manner, we can help people understand the true nature of abortion and the devastating consequences it has on women and children.
In conclusion – no, wait – let me rephrase that. As we move forward in this fight for life, let’s remember that our message can compete in the marketplace of ideas. Let’s remember that we have the power to change hearts and minds. And let’s remember that, together, we can make a difference.
